The foundation for all Sky Sports NBA graphics began with this concept for NBA Centre. We designed a 3D basketball court where rotating floorboards revealed the NBA logo and seamlessly transitioned into a Vizrt-powered interface. This updateable graphic displayed live tables, a rolling news ticker, fixtures, and player stats - which ended up setting the tone for future NBA visuals on the channel.
NBA Heatcheck / Pitch Frames
Building on the NBA Centre design, we pitched the court floorboard mechanic for NBA Heatcheck. These concept frames showcased bold player reveals using dynamic court flips to spotlight the biggest stars in the game.
Heatcheck & NBA Titles
The pitch was given the green light, and we developed test animatics before collaborating with the wider sports design team. The result was a full 3D title sequence featuring player imagery, animated name tags, and NBA iconography. The titles were so well received, they became the core visual identity for all NBA output on Sky Sports.
